About Us

Our History

Serving as missionaries in Costa Rica, Madeleine Allard and Murray Carpenter were overwhelmed by the lack of health care access for low income families. Murray and Madeleine soon saw short-term medical and dental teams as an opportunity to bring medical help and spiritual wellness with the message of Jesus Christ.

In 2002, Madeleine and Murray established MMI, a Christian organization dedicated to enhance the physical and spiritual well being of people in the developing world. Since 2002, MMI has co-ordinated close to 50 projects throughout Latin America and Africa.

Our Mission

To partner with a North American church and a national church to bring medical/ dental/ construction short-term teams to the host community. To train local church volunteers to share the message of Jesus Christ to patients coming to the outreach.

Our Vision

To extend the ministry to more countries by recruiting churches as a source of participants and team leaders. In 2008, MMI is bringing outreaches to Peru, Nicaragua, Panama, and Mali, Africa.

Our Goals

Do the logistical co-ordination to bring short-term medical/dental/construction teams from North America to countries without readily accessible health care.

Use national volunteers from the host church to evangelize to the patients during the outreach.

Help the North American participants explore a new concept of missions where the host church assumes a leadership role in evangelism.

Empower the host church to use their own resources and personal strengths to accomplish their church's goals.

Encourage the host church to followup after the outreach with those who have shown an interest in learning more about Jesus Christ.
