Mali Africa  Bamako     11/8/2007 to  11/22/2007

   Medical     Leader:  Madeleine Allard

We saw many people with great physical needs. We were challenged with some of the wound care in the area. We were told by the physicians working with us, that they have never seen such good nursing wound care. Although, our stay was too short to see complete healing of the wounds, we believe that the Lord will continue to heal them. One of the kid that came at the clinic had an acute abdomen, our provider sent the child to an hospital where he received emergency surgery which saved his life. We had a great team and it is always a pleasure to work with the Maliens.

Peru  Cruz del Norte     9/1/2007 to  9/8/2007

Medical     Leader:  Dr. John Selling / Paul Williams

 Peru  Jicamarca     8/25/2007 to  9/1/2007

 Nicaragua        4/21/2007 to  4/28/2007

   Medical     Leader:  Dr. Max Deardorff

The medical team quickly meshed with the Niquinohomo church members. On Thursday afternoon, the church invited the team to a going away church service. There were many tears, hugs, smiles, and prayers shared that day.

 Nicaragua        4/14/2007 to  4/22/2007

   Medical/Teaching/Construction     Leader:  Mike Collins

We worked under tremendous heat. The construction team has to take many breaks to adapt to the weather condition. The medical team did well. Over 500 patients were seen. We also saw the Lord provision during the whole project.

 Nicaragua        3/17/2007 to  3/24/2007

   Medical     Leader:  Rebecca Zerwick

The small plane that brougth the team to the Northen Atlantic region of Nicaragua had to dodge cows along the way as it landed. Very rural area!!!!! It was a challenging outreach but the team overcame the difficul situations with grace. 510 patients were seen and the outreach helped the evangelism efforts of the pastoral couple ministering in this area.

Mali Africa  Tombouctou     11/18/2006 to  11/26/2006

   Medical     Leader:  Madeleine Allard

We travelled 2 days inland by four wheel drive to reach this town on the edge of the desert. We saw a lot of poverty. People living in tents with nothing to eat. We held a clinic for a couple of days with the medicine we had and with God's grace we will return in November 2007 to help out the Christian church in this area.

Mali Africa  Bamako     11/2/2006 to  11/17/2006

   Medical/Construction     Leader:  Madeleine Allard

We held our medical clinic in Sanakoroba where we attended 120 patients a day. It was a pleasure to see patients from last year medical project coming back to this neigbouring village to show us their improved health condition. On this project, we laid the first concrete block toward the construction of the Dorcas Educational Center. The mayor Coulibaly of Senou gave this property for the construction of a center to rescue the children from the street. With God's help and the generosity of friends we will build this center for His glory.

 Peru  Lima     10/21/2006 to  10/30/2006

   Medical/Dental/Construction     Leader:  Dr. Tony Burgos

On the last day of a clinic it is always very challeging because you know you will disappoint people by turning them away. On that last day, a lady was standing outside of the dental clinic and everytime that I passed by, she asked to enter the clinic. I thought, if she stays until the end I would like to take her in. I shared my intention with the staff in the clinic. The lady waited patiently and her wish was granted. When she sat down in the chair, she thanked everybody and said "the Lord told me to be patient and I would get in". The team was excited to have seen this lady's trust and obedience to the Lord.

 Peru - Pucallpa        8/26/2006 to  9/3/2006

Medical/Dental/Construction     Leader:  Chuck and Abi Dufour

Pucallpa is the busiest commercial town east of Lima. The streets are noisy with taxicars and street vendors right to the early hours of the morning. Our hotel was on one of those busy streets. The team did excellent despite the sleep deprivation. We had severe challenges on the outreach, none of the nationals professionals we had contracted came. We found however, one obstretician that came and help for 2 days. The construction team also had many challenges. Despite all of this, 270 patients came to know the Lord during the outreach. We thank the Lord that He brought victories in the midst of much adversities.

 Peru - Andahuaylas        8/19/2006 to  8/27/2006

   Medical/Dental/Construction     Leader:  Dr. Russell Shipman

Despite the altitude and the little amount of time we had to do the outreach, it was a wonderful success. On our first clinical day, we worked until 9:15 PM. So many people had come from far away and we could send them home without attending to them. We saw very sick patients and the dentists were extremely busy caring for patients with severe teeth decay. The construction team experience the hard labour to construct with adobe. We loved the people living in this hilly rural aera. If only there were heated homes... and yes, you can go without showering for 4 days.

 Nicaragua        8/10/2006 to  8/19/2006

   Medical only     Leader:  Michael Overcash

The medical outreach started with some challenges. Due to the attempted terrorist attack in the UK on the planes headed to the USA, many flights were delayed. Only 6 participants out of 20 made it on their scheduled flights but the medicine came on in. God provided enough manpower for our first day of clinic despite this inconvenience. Pastor Hutson and the director of the school, William Rhodes, made the comment that the medical outreach was the most organized and smooth running clinic they had ever had at their school. We went on to San Pablo for the rest of the week to work with the volunteers of The Mosaic church. The team attended 686 patients, many came to the Lord and we had great evening services on Wednesday and Thursday night.

 Nicaragua  Masatepe     7/1/2006 to  7/9/2006

   Medical/Construction     Leader:  Tami Mohr

It has been incredible to see the ways God is working in Masatepe. Because of the love and unity the construction team showed while working, two Nicaraguan brothers (whose house was being worked on) resolved a long lasting conflict between them and are now talking and working together to finish the project on their house! The local church members were also encouraged by the ways God worked through and in them while evangelizing (some for the frist time ever) during the outreach. The US team members left with a new perspective and new bonds with Nica brothers and sisters in Christ. Praise be to God for faithfully working in the lives of all those involved!

 Peru (Lima)        4/1/2006 to  4/8/2006

   Medical/Dental     Leader:  Dr. Tony Burgos

A team made up of professionals from 5 different churches ministered in the district of San Jan de Luirigancho of Lima. Many volunteers from the local church volunteered and worked long hours alonside the medical/dental/optometry team. It was a very successful outreach where many people responded to the Gospel. The dental needs of the population in that sector was greater than any other places where we have worked before.

 Nicaragua        3/12/2006 to  3/19/2006

   Medical only     Leader:  Rebecca Zerwick

God showed Himself as Provider, Redeemer, Comforter, Lover of the World, Lover of the fatherless, Compassionate One, and Victorious during our week in Granada. Many patients simply broke down in tears as they shared and prayed with the medical team members, and as they received counsel and prayer from the Nicaraguan church members. We have never had such a strong response to the Gospel before! The church is ready to start the discipleship process with the new believers. They are preparing 20 leaders to start 20 new small groups in their community to walk along side the new believers. Instead of their regular Wednesday night services they will visit on that night the people who were interested in the Gospel and to continue the discipleship process.

 Nicaragua  Managua     3/4/2006 to  3/12/2006

   Medical/Dental/Construction     Leader:  Mike Collins

We quickly formed special bonds with the Nicaruagan church members of Hosanna Sur and worked side by side with them in the medical clinic and in construction. We provided emergency medical care to several patients and witnessed God bringing glory to Himself through the process. Tears of joy and sadness were shared between the Nicaraguan church members and the US team members as they celebrated all that God had done at the end of the project. Many patients responded to the Gospel of Christ during the outreach. The church has already begun to follow up with these patients by visiting them in their homes and inviting them to church.

Here are some testimonials from some of our participants

Mali, November 2005   Translated - "When I returned to Senou after the outreach, many came to me and said " the God who has given the medicine for us, is a God of Love"

Pastor Christophe Demberle

Nicaragua, August 2005   I believe this was the most fruitful trip to Nicaragua ever. We certainly plan to partner with MMI in the future. The mission was a huge success. I won't ever forget about Hebron Church and what took place in that community.

Michael Overcash

Sambu, Panama-2005   God used the gifts and talents of each member to accomplish His purpose. We were blessed in many ways by the people we served as well.

Sue Gonet

Sambu, Panama-2005   I could never forget the medical mission. One of the things I look forward to doing most when I graduate, is continuing on these trips, as a dentist!

Jessica Peterson

Nicaragua, Granada, March 2006.   I left my heart in Nicaragua. Nicaragua and its people will be in my heart and in my prayers forever. I believe that all of us on the team were deeply changed by our experiences in Granada and Managua. When we attended the service at Torre Fuerte last Thursday, I felt as if I had one foot in the vestibule of heaven.

Michael Breckinridge

Nicaragua, Granada, March 2006.   We serve a mighty God who shows me something new everyday. Thank you for allowing me to be a part of something so wonderful.

Mary Alice Phillips
