A team from Greenville,
South Carolina partnered with a church in Chinandega
located 2 hours North of Managua to minister to
the needs of their community. Many volunteers from
the congregation, led by Pastor Porfirio Maldonado
,ministered with the team during this medical/dental/construction
project. The National doctors and dentists also
came to lend a hand to this ministry and attended
517 patients. The construction team worked dutifully
to raise the walls of the new Sunday school.
A wonderful week for
friendship and for God’s glory!

Health professionals from
California worked in a small sector of Managua called
“19 de Julio”, near the Oriental market.
Under extreme heat, they diligently attended medical
and dental patients and the construction team painted
the Pastor’s house. It was our first medical/dental/construction
outreach in Nicaragua and this Californian team
left with a strong commitment to return and serve
the poor living in that country.
Nicaragua is one of the poorest countries in Central
America. |

An adventurous team from
Durham, New Hampshire walked 1 hour by trail through
the rain forest of Talamanca to set up a medical
and dental clinic in a settlement called Shuabb.
Some of these professionals traveled by dugout boat
to attend the population living in Boca Uren. There
are few Christian believers in Shuabb, but these
new believers have started to build a church and
the construction team who came with the medical
group worked hard to bring this project further
along.
The Durham team has committed to return to the area
to support the work of these new believers in Christ. |

A dental team from Pensecola,
Florida, traveled to the South of Costa Rica to
work on a Guaymies reserve co-habited also by a
white population. The dental team did cleanings,
fillings, extractions, root canal treatments, and
even some dental surgeries.
Two theologian pastors came with the team and offered
a teaching seminar to the pastors and Christian
workers living on the reserve. Although we were
very pleased and thankful to have the dentists come
and perform such wonderful and needed ministry,
we were also excited to see the reconciliation that
took place among the pastors. These pastors made
a commitment to work in unity and to pray for one
another as they face the challenges of their ministry. |

Following an invitation
from the pastor of the church in El Chaperno, a
medical and construction team traveled to El Salvador
to minister to the people with love, expertise,
and medicine. The church in El Chaperno had previously
tried to evangelize a neighboring village without
any significant results.
With the medical team setting up a clinic in this
neighboring town and with the volunteers from the
national church in El Chaperno presenting the Gospel
to the patients, we saw 92 people come to the Lord.
Many people received prayers to heal them from the
trauma of a severe earthquake they had experienced
in that area a year ago. One of the new believers
gave a property to build a church to nurture those
who found a new relationship in Christ during the
outreach. |
